Vintage giant mid century bakelite pendant necklace.
Look at this wonderful piece. This pendant oil on a silver tone rope chain. Gorgeous swirls!
TESTED with Simi chrome.It was very finicky to test positive due to it being heavily lacquered. Sometimes you can get a stronger smell on the interior rim of a piece when the rest of the piece is being finicky. And this piece does have a stronger smell from the interior ridge TO ME. I have a great sense of smell.
When I say the "smell", I am talking about the "rub test".
The hot water test was also very faint and fleeting.
Also with inspecting the back of this piece, the metal appliqué was attached by it being drilled and screwed in. Which I tried to show in the last picture.
It has the texture and look when held at an angle as well as the interior rim, which I looked at both through a loupe. Plus the "swirls" have all the bells and whistles.
So it was tested THREE times!
The pendant measures a whopping 3" across.
The thick rope chain is 24" long. This has to be on the rare side, I haven't seen another one like it so far!
