From my vintage shop that closed in the '90's.
Please excuse the wrinkles and folds! I simply can not press all the items I have for sale. They have been stored away for MANY years. This will arrived wrinkled!
Vintage 1940s's Rare Brooks Cadwallader hand silkscreened British Red Coats soldier scarf. Solid red back. It measures "47 long and 11" wide at the widest part.
Really nice condition. I see a few tiny faint marks on the back and on the edge wherein rests on your neck. No big whoop. This should be dry cleaned. Sold as is.
Info from the net:
"Brooke Cadwallader is known as one of the great American scarf designers--despite getting his start in Paris, designing fabrics for Schiaparelli, among others.
During the war the Cadwalladers fled Paris to NYC, where for a half-decade they set up shop--this scarf is from that period, and all scarves were hand-silkscreened and were quite expensive at the time.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art has 28 Cadwalladers in their collection".
I have one other Brooks Cadwallader scarf listed from the same estate, so you may want to check that one out too.
