Vintage Mid Century Swank Dog Crystal ? Cufflinks Cuff Links Tie Tac Old Stock MCM Mens Jewelry Shirt Accessories

Vintage 1950's mid century SWANK irish setter dog genuine crystal or glass cufflinks and tie tac in their original "Avante Garde" box. The stones are faceted crystal or glass. They are angular cut with large prongs. The dogs are reverse carved. There is also a little paper insert that reads "imported stones" in the box. Although in the sunlight, the cufflinks do not have any sort of rainbow cast to them.

I have seen other SWANK reverse carved cufflinks that have the same exact prong settings and look and they were labeled as crystal and their price was quite high. So I can't be certain if these are glass or clear crystal.

The fronts of the cufflinks measure 3/4" across.

On examining them closer with a jeweler's loupe, I noticed a few edge nips on the BACK edges of the cufflinks. They can not be seen from the front and of course not at all when worn. Please view all photos.

The design of the dog also differs slightly in condition. One appears to have slight discoloration on the dog's back. This all sounds terrible, but as you can see it is a simply gorgeous set! Box is in decent shape. Sold as is.
