Vintage Sterling Silver Siam Dragon Ship Pin Brooch Niello Enamel Nielloware 7.1 Grams

Vintage sterling silver signed Siam niello Royal Dragon Ship pin. It measures 3" long and weighs 7.1 grams.

Also called neilloware. Neillo is a technique of filling a carved out section of sterling silver with a black metallic compound.

This pin depicts a ship that was used in Siam (which now Thailand since 1939) for Royal travel which had with a crew of rowers, temple-like structures, and a throne.

Today it is called a Royal barge and still used by the King Of Thailand. the last photo shows the ship today.

The pin back does not close well and needs to be adjusted. Please excuse any reflections from my window on the back.
